Who are we?

Geoff Walker, founding director of re-fuze is also chief designer and hands-on craftsman. He works on all projects personally and if it’s a job for more than one man, he has a pool of talented fellow craftsmen with a multitude of skills he calls upon.

Geoff has a first class trade certification degree in Joinery and Carpentry, completed in New Zealand in February 1990.

He started his career as a Joinery apprentice in November 1985 in New Zealand before integrating himself into the building industry. He has worked on everything from fitting kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms to full house construction and the renovation of bars, shops and cafes.

Ecology is always front-of-mind for Geoff. For a considerable time now, he has preferred to work with sustainable, recycled and/or reclaimed materials – he finds it both rewarding and educational. Now, with the birth of re-fuze, he is channeling his energies into ethical furniture design. Well, that and he is working towards a batchelors degree in fitness specialising in Pilates based exercise. And he does a spot of DJing and events photography. Not to mention, he builds single speed and fixed wheel cycles.
